This is the big one, and I'm sure many are asking, "what are the new parking reservation requirements at Kirkwood; does it affect The Vertical Drop Patrons?"
New this year is parking reservations for Vail Resorts/Kirkwood. Parking reservations are REQUIRED at Kirkwood until 12-noon on Weekends (Saturday - Sunday). Los are divided by zone . . . ORANGE and BLUE. ORANGE zones are $20-paid advanced and carpool of 4+. THE BLUE ZONE is still requires reservations but you don't have to pay for parking; that means free parking when you reserve. Catch is, the BLUE ZONES are as follows:
Cross-Country Lot
Kirkwood Inn Lot
Kirkwood Meadows Drive (North of N. Loop Rd.)
Lower 7 Lot
Shop Lot
For those of us that like the visual, here's your map. For patrons of the Vertical Drop planning to visit Kirkwood, please ensure that you secure your parking reservation in the appropriate zone to avoid any inconvenience.
Vertical Drop competitors will utilize a hand-tally method. To make sure you or your team receives points for each lap, you need to ski to one of our Vertical Drop volunteers near or at the top of the designated run to punch your individual or team tally card. Volunteers will be on site at the end to hand-tally vertical distance.
